The federally designated non-profit organization recovers and places donated organs and tissue to people in need of life-saving transplants.
"The event is about bringing together recipients of organ donations and host families for a really beautiful experience" said NJ Sharing Network Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Elisse Glennon. "Donor families see recipients living and honoring that gift of life and it can really help them heal."
The event is one of three 5Ks the organization holds throughout the year to help reach its fundraising goal of $1.25 million.
Last year, NJ Sharing network helped 531 people receive life-saving organ transplants.
